The Teachers’ Training Course (TTC) was the first yoga teacher training in the West, developed and first taught in 1969 by Swami Vishnudevananda. The course is now taught by his senior disciples throughout the world to more than 1,000 people a year. With over 50,000 graduates to date, the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres is the largest yoga organisation in the world.
The course is designed to be intensive, immersing the students in a balanced programme of yogic theory and practice for all-round physical, mental, emotional and spiritual development.
The goal of this training programme is to produce qualified and inspiring yoga teachers who are able to draw on their own practice and personal discipline in imparting the yoga experience to others.

Right when the lockdown due to the coronavirus began, we started teaching yoga classes and group meditations online, and received enthusiastic feedback. Many students intensified their practice and reported how this has helped them deal with the stress of confinement. They felt connected with a larger spiritual family which brought comfort and joy in this time of solitude.
This has inspired us to offer a Sivananda Yoga Teacher’s Training Course online.
If you are not already familiar with Sivananda Yoga, our free online live programmes are an ideal way to get to know us.
Every Saturday and Sunday we offer free online yoga workshops which take a creative approach to the many facets of yoga.
Or join us online any evening of the week for our live group meditation, which includes Mantra chanting and a reading.
